PhD / postdoc

Currently: I do not have any opening at the moment (summer 2026). Grenoble has nevertheless regular openings, notably through the UGA funding for PhD thesis and through QuantAlps for PhD and for independent postdoctoral positions.

If you are a student looking for a PhD, please send me a brief email presenting yourself, including your CV, your grades of the previous year/semester and any reports you made for previous internships. I may ask for recommendation letters after a first discussion. Note that I may prioritize students with whom I have a previous positive experience, e.g. internship. I do not currently hold an HDR (an additional diploma required in France to independently supervise PhD students), which means any PhD will be in co-supervision. This means that additional time may be needed to find a cosupervisor depending on the topic. 

If you are looking for a postdoctoral opportunity, please send me a brief email presenting yourself, including your CV with a list of publications, and a summary of your research interests. It is important that your PhD award date (including possibly expected date) appears in your email / CV so that I can check eligibility easily. 

Important note: since quantum research has become relevant to national security in France, a number of administrative constraints are enforced. In particular, non-EU applications need to be done  three months before the beginning of the internship. For EU applications, at least a month is needed to set-up the contracts. 

Master projects

L3, M1 and M2 projects on tensor networks, on frustrated magnetism and on localization (in interacting and non-interacting disordered systems) are generally available in my group and in collaboration with members of the TMC teams and other Grenoble teams / labs.  However, a contact earlier rather than later in the academic year significantly increases the chances that I can support your internship.
